Mrs. Herrmann Awarded 2021 Outstanding Elementary Educator

Our very own 1st grade teacher Mrs. Julie Herrmann got the recognition she so deserves when she was named the 2021 Outstanding Elementary Educator at our Minnesota Lutheran Education Conference. 💙🤍 We are blessed to have Mrs. Herrmann as a part of St. John’s!

Here are just a few testimonials that show why Mrs. Herrmann deserved this award!

“I am continually amazed at Mrs. Hermmann’s patience, her positive attitude with students, how she is able to connect with students and get them to respond well, and her professionalism with parents; however, what I love most about Julie Herrmann is how she shares and teaches about God’s love in all she does. She does it all so naturally and authentically.”

“In the past few years, I have observed Julie pour her heart and energy as well as enthusiasm into her work. Whether it is stopping everything to do a “siren prayer” every time they hear an emergency vehicle, praying with a student that is having a rough day, finding ways to naturally incorporate a Bible story while doing math or science (or any other subject area), and ALWAYS letting kids know how much they are loved by God and by her, she pours all her energy into her teaching ministry. She can rattle off fun songs about most Bible stories, has fun and catchy phrases that ensure they remember the concept for years to come, and treats everyone fairly, and is a good listener. She has a passion for reaching students that are struggling and hurting and making sure they know she is there for them and their family but most importantly that God is there for them.”

“Each of our children have different gifts and needs which Mrs. Herrmann seemed to embrace. My girls are constantly playing school when they aren’t in school and I don’t think it’s any coincidence that they always pick to be a first grade teacher given how much they appreciated their time in Mrs. Hermmann’s class.” – From a Parent
