Class Feature – Time to Grow Early Learning
St. John’s Time to Grow Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten classes are bursting with joy and excitement, especially this time of year! We are very thankful that we are able to gather and learn together every day! And the best part?! Not only do we get to learn important things like social skills and math and reading skills, but we get to pray together and learn about Jesus EVERY DAY!
Both classes have been enjoying learning about the true Christmas story. Our Christmas program needs to look a bit different this year, but the message will always stay the same! Instead of acting out the birth story of Jesus for families to see live, kids are all telling a piece of the story through a photo. Then, when all the photos are put together with narration, a DVD will be made for families to view at home. Our program theme this year is Christmas in our Jammies so, of course, there will be some video segments with fun songs to help tell the story! It is amazing to hear the story of Christ’s birth retold by preschoolers!
In the classroom, boys and girls are enjoying playing with many Christmas themed toys, games, and activities. We can often be found decorating Christmas trees, putting together nativity puzzles, playing with plastic nativity sets and telling the Christmas story with our friends, and of course, making many fun art projects! Walking down our hallway, you will see fun gingerbread men, glittery angels, glistening Christmas trees, manger scenes, candy canes, and beautifully decorated wreaths adorning the lockers and walls!
I feel so blessed to be part of a wonderful school and church where we can learn about Jesus and tell about his great love! Although things may look and seem a little different this year, the Christmas message never changes! Jesus was born to be our savior and that is something to certainly celebrate! We pray that you have a wonderful Christmas season and that you too enjoy celebrating the birth of Jesus!
