Greetings from St. John’s Lutheran School staff and students!
This school year will certainly be a year that we will remember for years to come. COVID has changed how our school day looks. We have had to be flexible, and we have had to be patient. But St. John’s Lutheran School continues to be incredibly blessed by God and his provisions for us.
This year we are blessed to serve 192 students in Preschool through 8th grade for full in-person learning. This is an increase of 22 students from last year! Several of our classes are at or near capacity. Kindergarten is our biggest class at 25 students and because of the COVID concerns, we split the class, so we have 2 Kindergarten classrooms this year! We pray that we will continue to stay in person throughout the remainder of the school year.
Our theme for this school year is Faith Over Fear based on Psalm 186:6: The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. We are teaching students that instead of living in fear, God calls us to live in faith. That does not mean that we will never be afraid, but it means that when those fears come, we face them, we name them, and then we give them to God. We set our eyes on Jesus, the one who has lifted us out of the darkness into his marvelous light. We shift our focus from the shadows to the Shepherd. The Lord is my shepherd…Even though I walk through valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for you are with me (Psalm 23:1,4).
We are so thankful for your continued partnership. Your support as a congregation is invaluable as we continue to equip lives with a foundation of faith. It allows us to be God’s hands and feet to the families that entrust their children to our care.
We humbly ask that you continue to support us through prayer, and if possible, through financial support. For more information, email Kendra Gilmore at Kendra.Gilmore@stjohns-chaska.org or call the school office at 952-448-2526.
