More than Conquerors

In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
Romans 8:37

Hello families!
We have arguably just finished one of the most difficult years that we have ever experienced.  We dealt with things that we never thought we would see in our lifetime, and we used the word unprecedented more times than I care to count.  We experienced fear, distress, frustration, anxiety, and some of us, severe sickness. But we made it through! We have overcome and conquered many things.

While I don’t wish to experience a global pandemic again in my lifetime, I know that even through these times, God has used and will continue to use our experiences for His purposes and His good and gracious will. In all things God works for the good of those who love him. Romans 8:28. God will use our experiences to bless us and others.  When we experience difficult times, we are reminded in Romans 5:3-4 that, suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. Did you read that?  Suffering can lead to hope!

This year we picked the Bible verse Romans 8:37 In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us as our theme. Yes, we have been through a difficult year.  One where I am grateful to have learned many new skills such as determination, grit, and perseverance. I am thankful we have the hope of a new and exciting year.  But being a conqueror as the Bible verse and our theme indicates is SO MUCH MORE.

Being a conqueror means that we no longer need to live in fear because the enemy has been defeated.  Being a conqueror through Christ means having a confidence that no one can take away because we no longer need to worry that our sin will condemn us. We have been promised a victory in a fight that has already been won.  We have the promise and assurance of eternal life.  Romans 8 continues with For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord (vs. 38-39).

Jesus has literally conquered it all.  There is nothing left.  It gives us a hope and a confidence that can only come from Christ.
As we move into the 2021-2022 school year, we are so thankful how God has continued to bless us even during the most difficult times.  We are thankful to have the opportunity to continue to be together and to share God’s love with each other. We have learned that we can do all through Christ who gives us strength Philippians 4:13.

We are more than conquerors through Christ Romans 8:37.

In Christ,
