4th Grade Newsletter

St. John’s is blessed to have an amazing 4th grade class full of students chosen by God and called by name!  God has given them so many gifts and talents!  They are fun to work with each day and are so excited to learn both inside and outside our classroom.  We are focusing on connections – both in staying connected to Christ, the vine, but also being connected to each other.

We love our preschool buddies and our connection with them.  We pick them up for chapel each Thursday and get together with them once a month for activities such as reading picture books, doing art projects, playing games, and having parties.  It is fun to be a leader and to get to have friends that are littler than us!

We are also super excited to learn to play the recorder.  We are learning the notes and how to read music!  It is so cool when what we play sounds like a song!

We can’t wait to go on field trips.  We already went to see the play “Beauty and the Beast, Jr.”  It is fun to learn outside our classroom!

We love to write and be creative!  We have completed our personal narratives and enjoyed proofreading and the editing process.  We are excited to write prayers to pray over the intercom for the entire school when we get to our turn.

We also love science experiments and are studying landforms and soil.  We just finished our chemical weathering and acid rain experiments and were amazed at the crystals that formed.  We have learned about maps, our country’s landforms, and did an overview of our country’s history in social studies.  We are currently working on our multiplication skills in math.  We also enjoy reading.  We are learning valuable study skills and are working hard to grow as much as we can!

We are excited that Christmas is coming!  We are looking forward to many fun traditions and to doing some special projects in our classroom.

We are all so thankful for a church and school where we can learn about Jesus and live out our faith in so many ways each day!  Our prayer for you is that you are able to remember how precious you are to God – so much that He sent Jesus to be born in a stable in Bethlehem for you!  May God’s amazing love for you give you joy and peace this holiday season and in the year to come!
