St. John’s Lutheran preschool is passionate about quality early childhood education. We provide several program options for young families, including half & full day preschool with the added flexibility of before and after school care. Our programs are offered year-round. All of our learning programs include a high quality, research-initiated curriculum, highly educated and experienced teachers, and bright, well-equipped classrooms.
One of the fundamental principles of Christian education is the training of the WHOLE CHILD. This means that we attempt to provide activities that will develop your child’s mind, body, and SOUL. Jesus tells us that unless people feel good about themselves, they cannot feel good about others-and in turn, cannot learn and develop to their full potential. Most of all, we know how important it is for your child to know about God’s love and how He sent His Son Jesus to save us. Life together in the classroom will be based on this fact as we strive to grow in that faith as we learn about the world around us.
Our Early Childhood curriculum is developmentally appropriate and utilizes a hands on/child-centered approach.

Spiritual Development
Lutheran Preschool and Prekindergarten students are capable of learning about the God who made them, and about Jesus, their Friend who loves them. And while they will have little understanding of the Holy Spirit, it is important for them to hear the Spirit mentioned as we begin each worship or end each day and in lessons as they pertain. Cognitive Growth in Literacy
Language, name recognition, letter recognition, colors, participation in program activities, and following directions.
In our class, children will learn what it means to be a Christian, to live in God’s will, and respond to God’s love to them in Jesus. The messages that children hear in the Bible stories we teach will help children grow in faith and in knowledge of God.
Science, Math, and Social Studies
Numbers, counting, shapes, patterns, and sorting are some of the major math skills that are taught through both whole group and small group formats. Children get to experience real life science and social studies through hands-on, age-appropriate centers and projects.
Physical Health and Fitness
Large and small motor skills and self-help skills.
Social and Emotional Growth
Sharing, communication, being part of a group, relationship with self, peers, and teachers, and practicing good manners.
Creative Expansion Through Music and Art
Children have the ability to express themselves and show their creativity during art and music, which occurs daily. Children learn amazing things through movement and song! Hands-on, age-appropriate art projects often follow a theme that we are learning about in the classroom.
Computer Instruction
Children receive instruction in the computer lab once a week in the afternoons.

Our Beliefs:
As commanded in Matthew 28, we believe in spreading the Gospel message that Jesus our Savior loves us, has forgiven our sins, and desires us to spend eternity with Him in heaven. To that end we support spiritual growth through the reading of Bible stories, teaching Bible truths, and providing opportunities for praise, worship, and prayer.
