At St John’s, our goal is to educate and develop the whole child – socially, mentally, physically, academically, and spiritually. Our classes are taught by caring, loving staff that offer decades of experience in Christian education.
In the area of mathematics, starting in 5th grade we are able to assess our students and place them in mathematical groups where they are able to move at their pace. Those that are ready for a more challenging, rigorous course are able to do that, while those who need to move more slowly and build a stronger base are able to do that as well. Students participate in the level that is right for them. Students have the opportunity to participate in 5th Grade Math, Course 1, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, or Geometry. In these classes, students are given step-by-step examples to complete the lessons.
Students are provided the precise language and structure necessary to build mathematical understanding and proficiency. As students progress through the classes, students will gain mastery of more challenging topics that build on foundational concepts previously taught.
All of our academics, including math are provided from a Biblical perspective, drawing meaning for each area of study from the context of God’s Word.
