7th and 8th Grade Language Arts Newsletter

In 7th and 8th grade Language Arts we focus on Reading (Class Novels and Independent Reading), Writing (Academic, Creative, Projects), Grammar, and Speaking. We have recently wrapped up our first Writing Projects for the 2021-2022 school year and are excited to share them with you.

The eighth grade class collaborated and created a Washington D.C. website.  They started this project as a precursor for their class trip to Washington D.C. and then reviewed it after their return.  As the trip evolved, their were some sites they didn’t make it to and there were sites they got to see that were not on their website, however this is close to their itinerary.  Please join them on their trip by checking out their site here: link to Washington D.C. Website 2021-2022

The seventh graders spent time brainstorming, drafting, revising, and editing pieces of their choice this fall.  Once they had created a quality piece of writing, they chose how they wanted to publish their piece.  They were exposed to several online formats in class and then they went to work.  Below is a chart with each student’s project (click the link) and see/read their creations.  You will be able to travel to Florida, Dominican Republic, Alaska, and Hawaii.  They will share sports, volleyball, and softball as well as various topics from money, their home, astrology, and music.  Writing is a way to share a part of ourselves or to create something imaginary for ourselves and others to enjoy.  We hope you enjoy them as well!
