4th Grade Newsletter 2022

St. John’s is blessed to have an amazing 4th grade class full of students chosen by God and called by name!  God has given them so many gifts and talents!  They are fun to work with each day and are so excited to learn both inside and outside our classroom.

We love our preschool buddies.  We pick them up for chapel each Thursday and get together with them once a month for activities such as reading picture books, doing art projects, playing games, and having parties.  It is fun to be a leader and to get to have friends that are littler than us!

We are also super excited to learn to play the recorder.  We are learning the notes and how to read music!  It is so cool when what we play sounds like a song!

We can’t wait to go on field trips.  We already went to see the play “Stuart Little”.  It is fun to learn outside our classroom!

We love to write and be creative!  In fact, the 4th graders worked as groups to write their own articles for you too!  We are excited to write prayers to pray over the intercom for the entire school when we get to our turn.

We love science experiments and are studying landforms and soil.  We just finished our acid rain experiments and were amazed at the crystals that formed.  We have learned about maps in social studies and are currently working on our multiplication skills in math.  We also enjoy reading.  We are learning valuable study skills and are working hard to grow as much as we can!

We wish you a blessed Thanksgiving, and we spent some time thinking about what we are thankful for.  At the top of all of the lists were Jesus, God, the Holy Spirit, family, friends, teachers, pastors, school, church, the Bible, and food; but we have some other things as well.  This is a class that has an attitude of gratitude so their lists were LONG, but here are a few of the highlights:

  • shelter, animals, water, clothes, shoes, stores, holidays, restaurants, chicken, soccer, football, hockey, baseball, kickball, hospitals, electricity, pets, sports, farms, hair, oxygen, books, supplies, money, trees, toys, school work, our country, our brains, sun + moon, planets, planets’ rotation, TV, TV shows, languages, water bottles, chairs, pencils, homes, stickers, energy, and most importantly . . .

We are all so thankful for a church and school where we can learn about Jesus and live out our faith in so many ways each day!

Our prayer for you is that you are able to see the many blessings God gives us and to count your blessings too!
