Pastor Matthew Barry

Pastor Barry began serving at St. John’s in 2018 having previously served in the Pittsburgh area for over five years as an associate pastor. He is a 2008 graduate of Concordia University Wisconsin and a 2012 graduate of Concordia Seminary. He and his wife Katie, also a 2008 graduate of Concordia University Wisconsin, have been married for over ten years and have been blessed with two very active children. Katie is a dedicated stay at home mom who is also very involved with St. John’s mom’s ministry, R.O.C.K. (Raising Our Christian Kids). Among many other things, Pastor Barry can be found overseeing the educational programing of the congregation and partnering with the many leaders who make our Sunday School, Bible studies, confirmation, and small groups possible. He also invests a considerable amount of time in supporting the ministry of “The Gathering Place”, St. John’s free Monday evening meal that draws in many from the community. When he is not at Church, Pastor Barry enjoys attending community gatherings and festivals. He also enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, and running (although not as much as he should). Pastor Barry is excited for all God is doing at St. John’s, and looks forward to helping connect those in and out of the church even more with the life changing message of Jesus. pastor.barry@stjohns-chaska.org
